CAMPER COUNT UPDATE
The camper count as of May 1 was greater than the same date
in 2007.
There is still plenty of room. With the new cabins we do not anticipate
a waiting list this year.

Construction / Work Saturdays |
We have had a green tag for a week, but still do not have power. We are
waiting for a City of Leesburg engineer to provide us with the forms.
Some of the future inspections require the power to be on (fire alarm,
mechanical). The buildings are essentially complete. Mirrors are being
installed today. We have shower curtains and privacy curtains to hang
and the ADA bathroom mirrors are on the way. The floors have been sealed/painted
except the porches.
The SOWERs are gone. We need your help!
THIS SATURDAY (TOMORROW)
We need to remove the construction debris, surplus pieces, tools and
equipment from both cabins. Shower curtain rods need to be hung (20 rods
in all). The porches need to be sealed and painted. Lunch will be served!
Dinner is available as well if you stay that late (7 PM).
NEXT SATURDAY (MAY 17)
Our calendar says "CAMP IS CLOSED - REALLY". How I wish that
were true. We have over thirty bunks to assembly, sixty safety rails to
install, and sixty mattress covers to put on. We are trusting that the
inspections will be complete by the end of next week and that we can install
the furniture. It is a full days work for a dozen people to do this, so
we are asking for help Saturday May 17. Lunch will be served (or pizza
ordered). Overnight accommodations are available Friday.
The camp blog project has been suspended. I was flooded with inappropriate
requests for permission from folks that do not live in the USA and certainly
do not share our values.
I might turn it back on again later. Our presence on search engines is
perhaps a little TOO good. I had not even published the blog info before
folks found it and tried to get user names..

List |
SUMMER STAFF POSITIONS
We have need for the following positions: Nurses: V1, V2
I am desperately trying to log in all of the applications. We were flooded
with applications over the past few weeks as the deadline came. Other
than nurses, it looks like we have enough staff for the other positions.
Collegians can cook, but only nurses can nurse. If you did not get your
application in, then please call first. Only essential positions are being
accepted now.

NEW MAP TO CAMP
HORIZON
Construction on US-441 near Camp Horizon is pretty much completed. Sleepy
Hollow has been re-routed to the traffic light at SR-44. You can now turn
onto Sleepy Hollow from 441 from either direction. You are about two miles
from camp at that new traffic light.
