PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE BEFORE GOING TO THE ONLINE STAFF APPLICATION FORM
If you want to serve in 2012 the online application will be available through May 15, 2012.
Here is a brief outline of the procedure. As of August 2010 all summer camp staff (paid or volunteer) must have level 2 background screening and an Affidavit of Good Moral Character.
Processing takes time and we will not be accepting applications after May 1, 2012 for summer camp staff. All applications, references, and fingerprinting must be done by May 15 to assure your eligibility to serve.
1) You must have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and be active in a local assembly (or fellowship) of evangelical Christians.
Your references must attest to your faith and faithfulness.
2) You must be 16 (or entering the 11th grade) or older (through adult) for Summer Staff or 15 (or entering grade 10) for CIT.
3) You must sign an "Affidavit of Good Moral Character".
You must read every line carefully.
IF YOU SIGN "MY RECORD DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY OF THE ABOVE LISTED OFFENCES"
You can have it notarized locally, or witnessed by one of your references (preferably an elder, pastor or equivalent). If it is not notarized, you will need to sign another form later in front of a notary, but we will proceed with your background check and pre-screening.
IF YOU SIGN "MY RECORD CONTAINS ONE OR MORE
OF THE ABOVE LISTED OFFENCES"
You are disqualified from serving with children without an exemption from DCF (Division of Children and Families). It is unlikely that you could complete the process of obtaining an exemption before Summer 2012 if you begin the process after March 1. Even if you obtain an exemption the Board of Directors must also approve your application.
4) You must have two references from your local assembly (fellowship). We must have these in hand along with your affidavit of good moral character before we proceed with live-scan fingerprinting.
5) LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING
5a) We will provide you with information on getting this done only after we have all of your documents. There is a window between 90 days and the start of your service. Therefore we would like to have all scans done after May 1 but before May 15 (to allow for DCF clearance).
5b) If you are currently employed (paid or volunteer) for an organization that requires level 2 background screening and can obtain written confirmation from your employer that you are up to date and have nothing that disqualifies you from service, you are exempt from fingerprinting. This applies but is not limited to Teachers, Public Safety Officers, Healthcare Workers & Volunteers that work with children or senior adults. If your employer will not complete our confirmation form by May 30 you will need to be scanned again.
