THIS IS JUST A QUICK UPDATE AS WE PASS OUR FIRST 'FINAL' INSPECTION

Cabin Construction / Work Weekend
We passed "Roofing" today, the first of several "final" inspections. We have two weeks to go and several things are happening simultaneously. There is a work weekend coming up this weekend in conjunction with a Youth Rally. We have much to still to do on the cabins and much more to do to prepare for summer 2008. Meals and lodging are free to those who come to work.

Camp Blog

There is a blog site at camphorizon.org for Summer Staff, Campers, Parents, and Retreat Guests. You have to register to be able to post. Once we verify that you are a real person you will get permission to post. The camper site is for camper age folks only - no adults please.

You can use this to share ideas and the excitement of preparing for camp, or to post links to your pictures from camp. Just keep safe - don't post personal contact information.

Retreats and Events

YOUTH RALLY AND SERVICE DAYS
April 18-20
Click on the link above to see a flyer that announces this event. Families are also welcome to join us. There is much to do to prepare for summer and much of the onsite resources are being used for cabin construction.

The list of things that should be done before summer would present a challenge if left to the onsite staff alone, but with many hands, the work is light. Please come for any or all of this weekend.

Family Camp 2008 (Memorial Day Weekend)
Family Camp
May 23-26, 2008
Byron Unger and George (purple person) will be bringing Bible lessons for the whole family!

Although the Lodge is full, there are cabins available as well as rooms in the Dormitory. We slide two bunks together in the cabins to make a king-size bed for the parents. All sleeping areas have central A/C.

NEW MAP TO CAMP HORIZON
Construction on US-441 near Camp Horizon is pretty much completed. Sleepy Hollow has been re-routed to the traffic light at SR-44. You can now turn onto Sleepy Hollow from 441 from either direction. You are about two miles from camp at that new traffic light.
